I am very excited to release my current studio project “Sky-Ground”. It’s a collectors edition of two books with original prints. The first 10 are gone and the rest is only available through my website or semina rerum in Zürich. Please go to the Books section on this site to see some pictures. Here is the concept and (ground) rules:
SKY – GROUND
During the 55th year of his life the artist makes an edition of 55 boxes in his studio.
The boxes are titled sky-ground and are made of stainless steel and binders board. The boxes are laser etched with the title and contain and unite the two books “Waters in Between” and “Swarm”, divided by a folder with two original prints.
The books represent two different bodies of work I made in the same place. I think of them as two archives, one looking down at the cultural and natural condition on the ground the other looking up into the winter sky.
In one body of work the pictures are often slow and contemplative, visible views of actual places, in the other the pictures are reflexes arresting almost invisible patterns
The editions contain two original prints, one from each archive, the prints might be published in the books or not, they are:
one gelatin silver print and/or one color c-print
one enlargement and/or one 5×7 contact print
For me the edition is also a game of 5s. Therefore all boxes with numbers containing the number 5 (15..25..35..51..) will contain 5 prints, they will be released at a higher price.
